SC to SC Duplex OM1 62.5/125 Multimode Patch Lead OFNR
KEY FEATURES & PERFORMANCE
Standard OM1 62.5/125μm Core: Designed for legacy high-speed LAN, data center,
and enterprise campus networks operating at dual wavelengths (850nm/ 1300nm).
Standard A-to-B Polarity: Configured in crossover duplex mode (Tx to Rx) for
immediate plug-and-play installation into transceiver modules and fiber patch panels.
OFNR Riser Rated Jacket: Non-conductive riser PVC outer jacket compliant with
building safety standards for vertical run installations between floors.
High Durability Ceramic Ferrules: Precision SC/UPC ceramic ferrules provide
low insertion loss (≤0.3dB) and survive up to 1000 mating cycles for long-term reliability.
SC/UPC to SC/UPC Duplex OM1 Fiber Patch Cord
This duplex SC-to-SC cord is built on OM1 62.5/125 µm multimode fibre and uses the 2.5 mm push-pull SC connector. OM1 is the original 62.5 µm multimode grade, still widely present in older LAN backbones, industrial networks and building management systems, and this assembly is the standard way to patch those runs into active equipment.
Construction & Materials
Two OM1 fibres run in a zip-cord jacket, terminated with 2.5 mm ceramic ferrules in SC/UPC housings. The SC body uses a square push-pull latch that seats with an audible click, which makes it easier to confirm a full mate than a screw or bayonet coupling. Assemblies are supplied with a duplex clip holding the pair at the 12.7 mm pitch used by duplex SC panels.
Key Features
- Square push-pull SC latch gives a positive, easily confirmed mate
- 62.5 µm core matches existing OM1 panel infrastructure without a media converter
- 2.5 mm ferrule is more tolerant of field cleaning than 1.25 mm LC
- 100% factory end-face inspection and IL/RL test report supplied with every batch
- Custom lengths, breakout counts, jacket colour and OEM printing available
Typical Applications
- Data centre cross-connects and top-of-rack patching
- Telecom central office and ODF termination
- FTTx access networks and subscriber drop panels
- Industrial and campus backbone cabling where bend loss matters
Specifications
- Insertion loss: ≤0.30 dB (typical), ≤0.50 dB (max) for multimode assemblies
- Return loss: ≥50 dB (UPC), ≥60 dB (APC)
- Operating temperature: −40 °C to +75 °C
- Durability: ≥500 mating cycles to IEC 61300-3-2
Selection Notes
OM1 is the lowest-performance multimode grade in use: 1G to 300 m, and 10G only to about 33 m. If the route is being upgraded to 10G, replacing the OM1 segment is usually more economical than adding the electronics needed to keep it working. Because OM1 has a 62.5 µm core and OM3/OM4 have 50 µm, the two can be mated but will introduce additional loss — for temporary patching that is acceptable, for permanent links specify matching grade on both sides.
FAQ
Can you supply this assembly in custom lengths and colours? Yes. Huifiber builds patch cords to order in any length from 0.5 m to 50 m, with a choice of jacket colour, boot type and printing. Send us the connector pair, fiber type and length and we will confirm the price within 48 hours.
Do you provide test reports? Yes. Every batch ships with insertion loss and return loss test data, and we can supply an interferometric end-face report for single-mode assemblies on request.
What is the minimum order quantity? Standard configurations ship from 100 pieces. Mixed-model orders can be combined to reach the MOQ.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SC to SC Duplex Multimode Fiber Patch Lead - OM1 62.5/125 Tight-Buffered (OFNR) used for?
Premium SC/UPC to SC/UPC Duplex OM1 Multimode Fiber Patch Cord with 62.5/125μm core, tight-buffered design, and OFNR riser-rated orange PVC jacket.
Can Huifiber customise the SC to SC Duplex Multimode Fiber Patch Lead - OM1 62.5/125 Tight-Buffered (OFNR)?
Yes. Huifiber supplies cable under the buyer's own brand as well as under the Huifiber brand. Fibre count, jacket material, jacket print, drum marking, drum length, packaging and datasheet layout can all be produced to the customer's requirement, and the engineering team can work from a customer specification or adapt an existing construction to a new route requirement.
How is the SC to SC Duplex Multimode Fiber Patch Lead - OM1 62.5/125 Tight-Buffered (OFNR) tested before shipment?
Every production batch is tested before it leaves the plant in Dongguan. Attenuation and geometry are measured on OTDR and optical bench equipment, and mechanical performance is verified against the datasheet for the construction. A factory test report is issued with each shipment, so an incoming inspection can be checked against the same numbers.
What should I send for a SC to SC Duplex Multimode Fiber Patch Lead - OM1 62.5/125 Tight-Buffered (OFNR) quotation?
Send the fibre count and fibre type, the jacket material or fire rating, the route length or span and the drum length you need, the destination port or country, and any certification or test-report requirement. With those details the sales engineer can confirm the construction and return a quotation with an indicative lead time.
